About Me
I noticed that, a lot of times when checking a fellow's artist profile, it is all written in the third person. This always seemed a tad impersonal to me. Why the third person? Can one detach so much from himself to allow writing in the third person? Or is it that it sounds more official and hence a fake note of profesionalism is assumed?
Anyway, photography is personal to me, my life, my profession and my gal are personal to me and I would never 'do' any of these if I wouldn't absolutely love it. (Yes, I meant that. And that too ;-) )
I am Lucian Badea. I was born in 1974, in the city of Ploiesti, Romania and since 2001 I have been living in Florida, USA.
I am holding a Masters in Computer Science from University of Florida. My day job is some nerdy thing called 'Software Developer'.
I discovered photography by accident, somewhere in 2004 if I remember correctly, when, at one time, I borrowed a friend's camera when visiting Disney World in Orlando, Florida. And after that day, I couldn't stop.
I discovered that there is a whole world of beauty out there and there is so much meaning, life and history around us.
Due to our busy life, most of the time we miss the beauty surrounding us. For me, that stopped the moment I decided I won't go anywhere without my camera.
My life has changed since then. I now have my eyes wide open; I now see and feel. In my photographs, I am trying to share; share my vision on what we see around us and my vision of what makes us what we are. I am trying to share the beauty as I see it, I am trying to reinstate the feelings I had when the shot was taken.
It is my little contribution to this world. Insignificant and yet so very important to me.
